All of us have been closely following the changes related to the spread of Covid-19 worldwide.
In general, individual countries have been taking similar measures to prevent the further spread of the virus, most of which, unfortunately, have not been business-friendly. Some of the most affected fields are gastronomy, hospitality and tourism.
It has not been different in the Czech Republic. Since the end of September, various measures have been introduced having an impact on train occupancy and the demand for catering services. From November until recently, only on-site services were permitted and the dining cars were closed. From 3 December 2020, most shops and restaurants will open again, and so will dining cars, however, under precisely defined conditions such as a maximum of 50% of seats in the dining car allowed to be occupied, opening hours limited to 6 a.m. – 10 p.m., etc.
This step of the Czech government is welcomed by entrepreneurs, but it is clear that without an effective vaccine, the situation will not stabilize. Nevertheless, we perceive the reopening as the first step to the renewal of the JLV company on-board catering services and we are really looking forward to serving our customers.
